God, so many days I find myself grumbling about the height of my laundry pile or the dishes in the sink or the shoes in the middle of the floor. But tonight I want to thank you instead.

God, I’m grateful for the laundry because it means I’m blessed to have a family and it’s a privilege to help take care of them.

Today I’m grateful for the dishes in my sink reminding me we have plenty of food to eat and a table to gather around.

Today I’m grateful for the shoes in the floor because it reminds me that I’m physically able to pick them up.

God, being healthy and physically able to serve our families is a tremendous gift that I do not want to take for granted. Please forgive me when I do.

Father, sometimes these and other tasks feel frustrating and monotonous. When they do please help me see past the chore and to the greater gift behind it. Help me remember to be grateful in all things.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
