God,
Sometimes we feel you. We feel your presence, and we feel connected to you. But God, at other times, we don’t.
Some days we feel distant. Some days we long to hear from you but only silence seems to feel the space. Sometimes it seems as though our prayers don’t reach you as we cry out again and again. Some days God we’re so very lonely, and we feel forgotten.
But God, we know this isn’t true. Because your word is truth, and we stand firmly on your promise that you will never leave us nor forsake us.
So God, tonight I pray for each person who reads this. I ask that as I type and pray this prayer to you, that you will touch each person’s heart. I humbly ask that they will be reminded of your steadfast love and of your presence. I ask that you will meet them in their darkest hours, in the quiet of their bedrooms, or during their night shift. I ask that as they are rocking their babies, planning for the next day, or swapping the laundry that you will remind them–remind them of your love. Remind them of your presence. Please allow them to feel you near and know without a doubt that they are loved.
God, we thank you for your love. We thank you and praise you for your grace and mercy. And God, we thank you that right now at this moment…you are here with us.
